Purpose
The purpose of this subcommittee is to create sustainability measures, long-term goals and future responsibilities for the Liaison Committee on Racial and Social Justice.
Goals
- Continue to oversee the structure and general organization of the committee and administrative responsibilities.
- Foster a relationship between undergraduate medical education and graduate medical education via the development of resident-student journal clubs, EDI Morbidity and Mortality and Grand Rounds conferences.
- Cultivate faculty-student relationships.
- Strengthen the relationship and collaborate with other committees and organizations at the medical school.
Current Initiatives
Anti-bias reporting system (ABRS)

- Continue the development and promotion of the anti-bias reporting system.
- With our faculty advisors, we have facilitated conversations to address reports of bias within the curriculum.
Journal clubs

- To explore EDI topics in current literature to continue expanding our understanding of these topics and how they impact medicine and the world around us.
Research

- We are continuing our work on several projects, including a systemic review of EDI in medical education.
- We have had previous RSJME representatives present at national education conferences, including the Association of American Medical Colleges, American Medical Association, and the University of Michigan Diversity in Medicine conferences. We hope to continue presenting our research efforts at national conferences.
